I hope that you are all keeping well. After the government changed the advice in May to 'staying alert', rather than specifically 'staying home', you may be wondering when you can see your physio again!
The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (www.csp.org.uk) and the Health Care Professions Council (www.hcpc-uk.org) have both updated their guidance for my profession.
The priority is your safety, and my own. At this point in time I can offer phone and video assessments and advice, including personalised exercise programmes. I am charging 50% of my normal rates for these.
I can only offer face-to-face treatments if, after a phone assessment, I feel that by seeing you we will avoid the need for an urgent medical review or the emergency services. In most cases this is probably unlikely.
When the advice changes and I feel able to offer face-to-face, it will be in PPE, and I will need to do a thorough phone assessment prior to seeing you, to ensure that there is a clinical need for face-to-face physiotherapy.
Therefore please phone or email at present as there is a lot I can offer in way of diagnosing the problem and giving the appropriate advice.
Take care all!
